Etching

What is glass etching?

Glass etching is the abrading or roughening of a piece of glass in selected areas in order to produce a design. It is a way to produce a “frosted” design on the surface of a piece of glass, but it is much more than that! It can also be used to carve a design deep into the glass or to produce a shaded design that looks like a delicate airbrushing but is permanently etched into the glass.

How does sandblasting work?

We use sandblasting to etch on all glass products. In sandblasting, a template is designed and applied by hand to each piece of glass. All other areas that are to remain clear are masked out. All exposed areas are then blasted with a high pressured stream of air and abrasive to create a beautiful frosted design on the glass.

Will the etching be permanent?

Yes. It is taking away small particles, engraving into the glass. Unlike painting or decals, etching will not wash or wear off.

Are there limitations with etching?

The only limitation with etching is color. We do not do any painting or screen-printing — we etch only. This will only be a frosted color of the glass that is etched upon.

Ordering

Can i cancel or change my order?

Orders are can be fully cancelled with a full refund if cancellation request is made prior to production.

However, orders cannot be cancelled if it is in production and your items have been etched. At this stage, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Changes may be made at any time prior to order production, but a charge will apply if changes are requested after the order has already been etched.

What if there is error on my order?

We will replace an item at no charge if we make an error on the etching.

However, if the error is made by the customer, such as a typo, we cannot be held accountable to replace at no charge.  We will attempt to clear up any uncertainties with the order forms and email before order is designed. Please proofread orders before submitting.

Shipping

What if my item breaks during shipping?

No matter how well fragile items are packaged, there is always the possibility of breakage. We will issue replacements for any item broken during the shipping process at no charge to you.

We must be notified of the breakage at the time of order receipt. Pictures of broken glass products must be sent to [email protected]

Broken product should be held in case the carrier elects to inspect or recover the damaged product.

Replacements will be shipped the same method that is elected during original order process.
